Professor Dr Najma Najam appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Karakoram International University Gilgit/Baltistan effective June 10, 2009. She is the third Vice Chancellor of KIU. The new Vice Chancellor called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Presidency. The President, also the Chancellor of the Karakoram International University felicitated Dr. Najma Najam on her appointment and asked her to convert Karakoram International University into a model Federal university.
Dr. Najma Najam holds PhD degree in Psychology from the Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, USA 1980. She is the founder Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi which is now recognized as one of the leading Women University in Pakistan.
